Lest We Forget Gethsemane

Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus,my Saviour.
Waiting the coming day.
Jesus, my Lord.

Up from the grave He arose
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign;
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch His bed,
Jesus, my Saviour.
Vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus, my Lord.

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign;
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Death cannot keep His prey,
Jesus, my Saviour.
He TORE the bars away,
Jesus my Lord;

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign;
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Once again - one of my favorite hymns - I guess my age is showing..again!
I always loved singing that song on Easter morning - I wish the church would still sing it, even though I know there are many other wonderful songs. Thanks for the precious memories!
Happy Easter!

Dear Terry, this hymn fills my heart with joy. I've just finished singing it. Thank you for the blessing and Happy Easter wishs to you from me. btw, I loved your comment to me recently about the 'knocking' verses in the Bible. Yes, I agree...so many...loving invitations to come to Christ for salvation. Maggie

That is a wonderful song. It tells it all.
I'll be in church Saturday night this year, besides our three regular services we are doing it on Saturday night too.

Hi Terry!

Have you heard the song "Lead Me To Calvary?" This will be a long comment but I thought you would enjoy the words:

Vs. 1 - King of my life, I crown Thee now, Thine shall the glory be; Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow, Lead me to Calvary.

Vs. 2 - Show me the tomb where Thou was laid, Tenderly mourned and wept; Angels in robes of light arrayed Guarded Thee wilst Thou slept.

Vs. 3 - Let me, like Mary thro' the gloom, Come with a gift to Thee; Show to me now the empty tomb, Lead me to Calvary.

Vs. 4 - May I be willing, Lord, to bear Daily my cross for Thee; Even Thy cup of grief to share, Thou hast borne all for me.

CHORUS - Lest I forget Gethsemane; Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest I forget They love for me, Lead me to Calvary.

Our church still sings all the old hymns. They glorify the Lord so much in the words! Hope you have a Happy Easter! Love, Jessica, Ryan, and Ty
