For Mom ljung and Her Family

we are thinking of you especially this christmas my dearest friend and gunnar and the princess and kel.... I see the countless Christmas trees Around the world below, With tiny lights like heaven's stars Reflecting in the snow. The sight is so spectacular please wipe away that tear for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year. I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear but the sound of music can't compare with the CHRISTMAS CHOIR up here. I have no words to tell you of the JOY their voices bring for it is beyond description to HEAR THE ANGELS SING. I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year. I can't tell you of the SPLENDOR or the PEACE here in this place Can you just imagine CHRISTMAS WITH OUR SAVIOR face to face? I'll ask him to lift your spirit as I tell him of your love so then PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER as you lift your eyes above. Please let your hearts be joyful and let your spirit sing for I am spending CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN and I’m walking WITH THE KING. merry christmas our friends on the far side of the sea....bernie, terry, mom and dad golden.

For Sonja

when betty and i were teenagers and betty had her first job, we lived together with two other christian girls in ottawa, ont...i was stiil going to high school and had no money..ha! but betty did and she used to spend a lot on buying records at k mart. that is how i grew to love the southern gospel singing of stuart hamblem...to this day i have one of those long play records.....all of the hymns sung there by stuart hamblem were written by him....all but the title, "i believe"..this here song, "they that wait upon the lord" was written by stuart hamblem in that record. a beautiful blogger by the name of sonja goodson posted about how she knew stuart and his wife suzy and so this is dedicated to her!.....love terry

this monday, the weather was so mild and the trees were showing their golden beauty, and so bernie and i decided to drive to dunnville...the place of mom golden and her first three children, betty jane, me and teddy were born....about 30 miles from welland. the little red car of course had his nose WAY out of joint..."fourteen years i have served you and now that black suv just takes right over!" as we drove on the smooth road to dunnville, bernie had his favourite music on..now usually we have southern gospel playing but listening to those great love stories from the past so many memories flooded my heart. when we lived in my beloved manitoba, the hit parade was only on from four o'clock til four thirty..in those days mom golden wouldn't let us listen to the radio..sometimes betty and i would sneak it into our bedroom to listen to the hit parade...keeping it low!...i especially liked to listen to bobby vinton....many years later mom golden was a little apologetic to us for her being too strict..she even told me once, "you know terry, that bobby vinton sure does have a nice voice and he sings nice songs...i had nothing to forgive mom golden because i understood..ha!...sometimes when i have the computer on at her place, she and dad golden just love it when i put you tube on and play the love songs from their generation and it is so neat the way that they remember all the words!...they sing like teenagers! anyways, like i was saying, it was a real enjoying day as we drove and the radio sang those sweet old songs. i am putting this one here for bernie...it is a great song! hope you like it too...god bless you!...love terry

Bright Golden With Bits of Red On a Sunny Ruby Tuesday

this was the first sign that southern ontario had a golden glimpse that spring was surely at last on the way!....this was the first dandelion that we saw on our lawn...now i love dandelions because the thought of spring is so good to contemplate! now our garden should have been filled with bright red tulips but alas we only had two...hungry rabbits had sneaked into the garden in the dead of night and had eaten all the half opened buds!....bernie put talcum powder on the few remaining buds and we had a few flowering tulips! now this is surely a pleasant sight...our next door neighbors had these tall yellow dandelions growing on their lawn.... here is one brave red tulip that had escaped the hungry mouths of the night time bunnies...it has gone to sleep for the evening and looks so much like a rose! one single dandelion hugging close to the tulip garden...it is apparent that those naughty rabbits did not prefer to eat the greens! the little red car was getting bored at looking at two single red tulips and couple of dandelions and so he said. "let'e hit the road!" and so we did...it was just amazing how many dandelions were hanging around the side of the road!.yellow yellow yellow! we DID spot a nice tree clothed in pretty pink blossoms....albeit there was a thick golden blanket on the ground underneath it! we drove by rachel's house to see how her lawn was faring and lo!...there was her pretty house just surrounded by dandelions....all over the front lawn and all over the side lawn! ...so pretty, so golden and so springy! and then we drove by a lovely city garden full of pink tulips....now how in tarnation did these flowers escape the rabbits....hmmm...notice the scattering of the dandelions? well it was time to return home and what did we see on the way?another beautiful city garden full of yellow and red tulips!. wonder of wonders.few dandelions and not a rabbit in sight! well that little red car was so jealous of the city yellow and red garden with all the tulips, he refused to be consoled and he drove the rest of the way home with his blinders on!...and here i thought that the little red car loved the dandelions just like bernie and i do and that he would rather spend time tip toeing through the tulips!....oh well better luck next year little red car....bernie and i will talcum every one of the tulips to keep those furry bunnies away!!!......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................happy ruby tueday everybody and god bless you!....next week the purple lilacs will be blooming and no way will those rabbits spoil THEM!....alas though maybe the squirrels?

First Day of Spring and Nathan is 17 Years Old!

...i went to mrs. mac's[nathan's mama]blog and quite boldly if i do say myself, helped myself to a few pictures of god's gift, nathan...here is a picture of nathan's 16th birthday...what a beautiful laddie he surely is!..all smiles and sweetness inside and out! i was so surprised to see this picture of nathan, playing basketball with all of his buddies!..he is a real wonder that boy is.. all smiles again! you know, every year i like to put in a post of what mrs. mac thinks of her dear gift of god, nathan and i thought that this one was a real heart touching one!....and so here are his mama's words... "independent. That Gift of mine (Nathan .. the possessor of an extra chromosome) has got his groove on. Pretty self reliant of late is he! After spending months and months with an in home therapist, he has got himself in order. Bathing, washing his own hair, eating at the Christmas table with eleven people, brushing teeth, shopping, extra outings after school twice a week .. just to name a few improvements. God is good .. and I am blessed." for sure and he HAS overcome! this is something i really admire about nathan...he looks so happy and secure as he sails in this boat with his dad...now if it were me sitting there, i am sure that i wouldn't be smiling..in fact i would be a nervous wreck, so afraid of water i am!... nathan is a big brave boy! nathan with his best buddy, jacob, who is also his very own nephew!

Happy Birthday to Our Princess on the Other Side of the Sea

today from this side of the sea birthday wishes are going out to serina, the only daughter of my bestest friend on the other side of the sea, felisol. serina has grown into a beautiful young norwegian princess! these are the tiny red shoes that serina wore when she was a baby!...oh how great that her mommy and daddy, gunnar would save these...mom and dad golden could have never done this...after all with nine pairs of feet, each baby would have to pass down a pair of shoes to the next baby! here is baby serina with her mommy.. it sure didn't take that babe in arms to climb out and start to admire the books..rows and rows of prescious books...books were her love in life and as she grew, she studied and excelled in school and university...her grampa and gramma and uncle kel were so proud of her and as for felisol and gunnar...what can i say? didn't take her long to climb into a big red truck either...good thing that her little legs could not reach the driving pedal, eh? here is where she became a real live princess...[and a living doll!] and a gymnast. and so the princess grew from this...to this ..how she loves her uncle kel! and her daddy, gunnar. and her mom, felisol and her gramma ljung[who is now in heaven]...never to be forgotten by her loving grand daughter. nor her grampa ljung either....she will never forget! right untll her gramma ljung entered heaven, serina was by her side as much as she could be and by this photo, you can just feel the love that was flowing between these dear ones..no generation gap here! now this is my most favourtie picture of serina...i have always loved it and i am afraid that in almost every one of her birthday posts i have included it! now do you see this guy?...her name is amidala...and her and her most favourite movie star is this pretty young girl on the television screen! now this is a picture to show you how beautiful the baby in the arms of her mommy grew into! just stunning!! this is the royal family.......happy birthday sweet serina...and i hope your mom made you a big birthday cake!!..and that amidala kept her black paws out of it! maybe i will post this to ruby tuesday, serina so that everyone will know that it is your birthday...god bless you little one...love bernie and terry
