Happy Birthday Mr. Jim

today is mr. jim's birthday and i was so busy today and could not make this post earlier and so i thought i would do it in the early evening but alas!...bernie and i were so busy going to the door and popping in cans of coke into the trick or treat kids bags and now at nine o'clock, i finally have the time to wish to you mr. jim a very happy birthday and i hope that you have many more!

mr. jim has TWO birthdays

when mr. jim was a man, he so wanted to be a christian...and one happy day it happened ..mr. jim has two birthdays in his life now...here are his own words.

Jim said...

"These were the words spoken to me, personally, by the Lord:

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."

I had heard and read these words from the Bible, again in Revelations (Chapter 3, Verse 20), many times before. They were spoken to the people of the church at Laodicea in Turkey, many years ago.
But one day, at a revival, these words became personal to me. I had wondered for years if I were really saved.

That day, in the pew, the words were whispered to me personally, from Jesus Himself, it was the strangest feeling I have ever had.
[They made have actually been spoken by The Holy Spirit, I don't know, and it doesn't matter.]

I responded right then in a short silent prayer asking Jesus to forgive my sin and that I promised to follow Him and His commands from that day on."

mr. jim has lived many years since that marvelous day and his life surely proves that he is a true child of the lord jesus and if we never meet on this earth mr. jim, bernie and i will surely meet you on the other side...

i hope that you like this little sunday school song that many sunday school children have grown up with...i know you will like it because you love little kids!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY our dear texas friend and i hope that this year you will share a piece of this cake with my beloved niece, adi!..................love bernie and terry

Happy Birthday Wishes Mr. Jim

http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/
this morning at the dawn of a new year for mr. jim, our beloved friend from texas, bernie and i captured a beautiful sunrise.
now i must admit that i, myself have observed very few sunrises and i have had to beg saija http://www.saija.blogspot.com/more than once to send me one from my beloved manitoba, but this morning i did catch one!
and so the first thing i thought of was mr. jim and the first thing we wanted to do was to wish him a happy birthday
i think he is either 109 or 110...the last several months he has not displayed his age on his blog like he used to do!
for sure and he has got pretty closed mouth about the whole thing!

now adi, mr. jim's granddaughter was not very pleased when i told her that i needed help and so she had better get the first available plane and fly over to assist me...no not very pleased at all!

she showed me the card that mr. jim's family was featured on and i must say that mr. jim has one pretty wife, one adoring sister and a lovely daughter, a handsome son in law and two of the sweetest grandchildren!
adi surely agrees!

"now", adi complained, "you didn't even give me a chance to put my picture on this birthday card and my grampa jim is going to have a nose way out of joint and hurt feelings!"

"oh that's ok adi". i haven't got the time to put my name on this card either!"
but rest assured mr, jim, my friend and your grampa knows that we love him!
after all isn't he the greatest sunday school teacher and godly christian that you ever knew?"

now amber is quite disappointed that i never sent adi back with any cake.
hopefully mrs. jim will make her one and shares some with her!

poor katrin is in the same sad boat, but really since bernie has retired, cakes are few and far between on my blogs!

thank you so much for your help adi and don't worry, i am closing this post with the bestest wishes for your grampa jim and my friend, mr. jim and i am signing it, from you and me!!!...................love terry and adi.

and because it is now the lords day here in canada and texas, i will put in a lovely hymn that my friend sandy http://sandy-faithhopeandlove.blogspot.com/ and tammi http://avesselinthepottershands.blogspot.com/ reminded me of this morning.

have a glorious lords day mr. jim and everyone!

A Birthday Wish For Mrs Jim

yesterday, january 1st was mrs. jim's birhtday..now mr. jim http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/ told me that she does not want any fanfare going on about this but i really thought that i wanted to give to her this yellow rose and the pretty card of her and mr. jim and their three grandchilden, peeking out of this window, looking brightly into the new year, and i really thought that i would put one of my favourite hymns of jim reeves here and count it toward mrs. jim as a belated birthday gift!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. JIM!....................................love bernie and terry

Happy Blog Anniversary Mr. Jim!

mr. jim wrote his very first post on december 1 2005.
in the four years that he has been here in blogger land, he has endeared himself to so many people..
i would say that he is loved by one and all of us! http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/

here is mr. jim's first post,

Thursday, December 01, 2005
"Just a couple [two] of words to welcome. This is my first attempt at blog writing and I don't have a message today. I want to see if it works.

So, HELLO!"

bernie and i met mr. jim january 7 2007 through our good friend curious servanthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/4797906, and here is my first comment to him,

Dear Jim..."I just came from curious servants
Apparently he wants us to thank you for the suggestion you gave him about that beautiful post he just put on today and I am doing just THAT...Thank you!!...from Terry
God bless you both!"
sun january 7 2007

mr. jim has been our precious friend ever since!

he has shared his lovely family with us and in fact adi has come to visit a couple of times and katrin one time. adi piloted an airplane that was chuck full of my blogger friends pets and they all had quite a nice time here for a few days!
his granddaughter amber came along too. i am going to add the blog url of the reports of their visits to our southern ontario home.

both of these pictures are so true of mr. jim. he always has a listening ear when anyone writes to him for advice or for prayer.
ever since i have known him, he has been praying for dad golden who he fondly calls pop golden.
he also, no matter how busy he is slips around to my blog to sing happy birthday to the ones who are celebrating. i call HIM my singing telegram boy!
it was really cute this year that he came to the scarf sisters and sang happy birthday to donna
!

if any of you know mr.jim just a little bit, you must surely realize how he loves to eat!
i really believe that this must be his favourite past time!
what is so maddening about the whole thing is that mr. jim eats all of that fattening food and he never gains an ounce!..grrrr...mom golden is the very same!
oh by the way..i got all of this food on the table from mr. jim's own blog.

now also you must know that mr. jim is a car enthusiast.
now as i am partial to red cars, myself and seeing as, after all i am the one writing this post, i put all red cars in this picture. i mean what can be cuter than seeing a little girl, wearing red rubber boots and standing beside a red truck, and a pretty girl wearing a red sweater standing beside an antique red car, and what can be better than that fellow[i have no idea who HE is] standing beside my little red car, and what can be better than the old guy in the middle hugging HIS red car. eh?
not to mention another old guy standing beside that antique red truck
!

mr. jim has taken his sweetheart all over the world to exotic places and he is always so generous with the photos and great long post describing their adventures.
so, so nice!

now as far as i am concerned this is what pleases me the most about mr. jim.
he is a close friend of the lord and he is one man who lives his faith.
oh sure he doesn't talk a whole lot about it but he is a man of god.
so many times he has gone to spanish countries to help out with the children there who are in need of not only earthly food but also in need of spiritual food and a whole lot of loving and mr. jim is surely the person for that! http://teresaannegolden.blogspot.com/2008/03/mr-jims-story-of-salvation.html

so happy fourth blog anniversary mr.jim.
please keep up the good work because we all love you!...love bernie, terry and the fat cat.

Mr. Jim Is The Ruby Tuesday Birthday Boy!

http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/
go and see mary the teach at ruby tuesday!

mr. jim..http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com

although it is not october 30 yet, i have decided to wish mr. jim a very happy birthday and to at least send him this cake that i googled from the internet..ruby red it surely is!...now the reason for this early celebration is because that mr. and mrs. jim are planning on going away again.
last year he left adi and the family high and dry, were away for the big day and had the nerve to eat cake and ice-ream while adi, katrin and amber had to chew on dry crusts of bread!
maybe this year, mr. jim will have a heart and at least give them a piece of cake
!

this is mr. jim's beautiful family and i am sure that they will be wishing their husband, their brother and their dad and their grampa a very happy day...a day before halloween he will be celebrating his 108th birthday!

his little grandchild wants a piece of the action....she is giving her grampa one funny look!

the little red car wanted to get a piece of the action too and just wanted to show mr. jim how much he was every bit as good as the red ford mr. jim was admiring a few weeks back on teach's ruby tuesday...the nerve of that guy and yet the little red car, the boss and bernie would like to wish him a great day!

mr. jim...i was without my camera today and it would have been a shame, but bernie had his little phone camera and so he took you some nice autumn pictures for your birthday...ever since bernie saw what great pictures that felisol took with her phone camera, he has used his.....in fact that is why he bought one! here he found you a little bit of ruby red leaves.

the reflection of this lovely gold on the welland canal is just choice!

i think in this picture there is the faintest glimmer of a squirrel but i think you might have to click the picture and make it larger.

oh! there is a piece of the little red car, looking down the line of trees along the canal.

bernie wanted you to have a picture of a duck mr. jim...very, very peaceful and still the water and the duck were!

now mr. and mrs. jim if you ever come to welland and drive down main street, this is what you will see....our welland bridge!

although the bridge does not raise anymore, as the canal has been rerouted to the other side of town, the citizens love the history that it has. some are really trying to have a restaurant built on it and if that be the case, i just know that you and mrs. jim would love to travel to welland to try out that restaurant....i just know you would!.......well my friend have a very happy birthday and a happy ruby tuesday to you and when you go away, please don't forget where you live and come back home!..........................love terry, bernie and the fat cat......god bless you and your whole family.

Mr. Jim Is 107 Years Old Today!

It is your birthday today Grampa Jim and here lies poor little Amber. She feels like she has been deserted by you and to top it all off she can't even watch "Deal Or No Deal" with all those political doings knocking it off the air!
Even so, she does wish you a Happy Birthday and maybe she won't even be home when you return. Her Canadian auntie is bugging Adi to no end to hurry up and pick up all of the blog animal buddies and fly them to Canada for the Dog and Cat Fiesta!

Naomi's son, Sweetie is waiting anxiously for Adi and Katrin to pick her up for her first Canadian trip. After all she was asked three days ago!
What is the big hold up anyway?
Big deal if it is somebody's birthday, eh?
Birthdays come and birthdays go but it isn't every day that he gets invited out to a Canadian party!

Hi Mr. Uncle Jim. My name is Mia but you probably already know that.
I have seen you on my new mommy's blog.
Her name is Dianne and she just thinks that I am the cat's meow!
Miss. Terry has let me stick with Sweetie and you because that Siren wants to get a hold of me and drop me off to the country side.
Doesn't even know that we are family!!!
And I have such pretty eyes and a spankin' clean face!

Happy Birthday Mr. Uncle Jim!

Aha!! Here is the star of the whole day.
Mr. Jim, himself!
Bernie and I wish you a very Happy Birthday!
And because you are far away in South America, and because you can't sing for your own birthday, and since you can't even carry a tune anyway, if you COULD sing for your own birthday, I have hired me a new kitty to do the honours of singing for you!!

Oh dear my new hired help!
Please stay away from that cake. If you burn yourself, I would not be able to pay for any compensation!
I TOLD that Mr. Shirkie not to put any candles on that thing!

Ya know Mr. Jim, I think I know WHY Bernie put those 107 candles on that cake.
You know how he loves his burnt English muffins, eh?
Well he is looking forward to eating that whole "burnt to a crisp cake", himself!

Your sweetheart, Mrs. Jim looks so sad!
She is waiting to give you a birthday kiss, a pinch and 107 smacks
!

Now Bernie's cat, Shopper has his nose all of joint, as usual.
He figures he should have been in the first kitty picture and here he is the fifth cat down!
Even the hired help cat was ahead of him.
HIRED HELP!!
NOT fair!
Well, he wasn't even up at six in the morning when I started this post, so he can cry all he wants to Mr. Uncle Jim!
He is so mad that he won't even wish you a Happy Birthday, eh?
And my good friend, amazing grace man, Grandpaw Ron calls ME the mean old Canadian woman.
I tell you they don't come much meaner than that Shopping News!

Aw! Now here is the fair queen of the Fiesta, herself, Grandpaw Ron's Princess.
She has been here for three or four days now, waiting for Adi to fly down her followers and royal subjects.
She is mad at her auntie though, because she is sick and tired of eating sour canned apple sauce and frozen carrots, and cat treats for dessert.
She tells me that her dada Ron gives her fresh peaches, fresh tangerines and golden Granny Smith apples!

Her majesty wishes you a very Happy Birthday Mr. Jim!

Now Grampa Jim!
Do you see how this girl is all crunched down?
Looks like she is guilty of something, eh?
Well she IS! I have called her and called her several times to get her act together and pick up all of the guests for the fiesta, but she is more concerned about waiting for you to come home!
Apparently she is hoping that you have saved her those stale hot dog buns that you usually feed her and she says she is absolutely starving and ALL of the ice cream is gone!!!!
She wishes her Grampa a Happy Birthday and "Please come home soon, bearing many gifts!

Yeh!
Isn't THIS the face of innocence Papa Jim?
NAWT!!!
THAT is where all of the ice cream went!
In the dead of night, while Adi was enjoying a siesta, well Katrin got into the freezer and you can guess what she did, eh?
She gobbled up all of that ice cream right down and now has such a belly ache that she can't even wish her new daddy a Happy Birthday!

Here is Siren
Such a beautiful face she has, but let me tell you that Dianne's first daughter has a bent out of joint nose too!
Now her mommy thinks that SHE is the cat's meow too but so far she hasn't been able to see it.
She will soon get used to her new little sister though and then the two of them, she and Mia will be getting into all sorts of mischief in their Mama's basement!
She wishes you a Happy Birthday and wonders if you have any spare chocolates that you can part with, Mr. Uncle Jim?

Here is a tired looking Turtle.
Princess and Shopper have not sent all of the invitations out yet, but Turtle and her brother, Jake know that they are always welcome to come to their auntie's house.
The door is always open and although her Mom, Sioux and especially her Dad, Raf miss her when she is gone, they still allow the visit!
It will be nice to see her and her brother again and I am sure that they both wish you a Happy Birthday Mr. Uncle Jim!

The reason that Sioux and Raf's son looks so dejected and sad is because he was snooping into his Mom's computer and got wind that there was to be a huge party going on at the Shirkies and he figured that he was not invited,
He wondered why because after all, he had behaved himself so well the last time he got an invite.Well if you are snooping again Jake, please rest, assured, you are invited!
One thing though my dear Jake, because we have some newer guests this year, they will be getting the extra beds. So please bring your own sleeping bag!

Here is Sheba, who is the son of an Indian princess, Amrita.
I think that Adi is a little afraid of flying over the ocean, but I told her that she would be OK. Maybe I should get a hold of few more dogs to go with her.
I will maybe find Mrs. Mac's Dawg and convince her to go along!
It will be nice to see a dog from India. I hope he likes spaghetti and meatballs , piping hot and with no garlic!
He truly does love you too Mr. Jim.
He has been scouring the papers for days looking for news of you and your Spanish friends and much to his delight, there you were right on the very front page! He wishes you a Happy Birthday!

If you want to see something cute, let me introduce you to a kitty from my beloved Manitoba.
This is Saija's and Leo's son and they are quite willing to part with him for a few days, but I did get a stern warning that he bites, so we will have to be careful for sure!
As soon as Scooter heard that he was going to be making a visit to Southern Ontario, he packed his bag and he is waiting for Adi and Katrin to pick him up.
Maybe after his visit here, we can use that same bag and pack HIM up and mail him over to the far side of the sea, to Norway, the land of many mice. There is a girl there by the name of Felisol who sorely needs his services. That girl is afraid of meeces!!!

Happy Birthday Mr. Uncle Jim from the Manitoba gopher, Scooter!

Special Bulletin
Sweetie..Here is the answer to your question. I just heard from Mr. Uncle Jim!

"The Internet here is too slow for videos to play and make sense with the words. It comes in bits and pieces.

This is the last work day, we will have a pizza party tonight and go touristing one day Friday, then home Saturday. Time goes soo fast here when you are trying to get so much done."..Mr. Jim
