Saija's Posting...Sadness Of The Day

sadness of the day ...
"The whole point of Heaven is to relieve us of the suffering, pain, death and tears brought into the world by the evil of humanity. That is why God says that in Heaven there will be no more sorrow, pain, death , or crying.....David Brandt Berg
"There the wicked cease from troubling;and there the weary be at rest...Job 3:17
Posted by "THRO' A GLASS DARKLY"
When I read Saija's posting last night, I was sure that it was referring to the tragic events yesterday in Virginia.
I hope that she doesn't mind that I have put it here.
After I read it, this song has been playing through my heart most of the night.
I first heard this song 42 years ago.
Our family was living in Manitoba at the time and at the end of the day, when the television channel was signing off at midnight, they played this hymn. I used to think that it sounded nice but never realized the deep meaning of the words until I had grown much older and realized what sadness there is in this old world..what, what sadness!!
.
.
"When They Ring The Golden Bells"
.
There's a land beyond the river,
That we call the great forever,
And we only reach that shore by faith's decree.
One by one we'll gain the portals,
There to dwell with the immortals
When they ring the golden bells for you and me.
.
We shall know no sin or sorrow,
In that haven of tomorrow
When our barque shall sail beyond the silver sea.
We shall only know the meaning
Of our Father's sweet caressing
When they ring those sliver bells for you and me.
.
When our days shall know their number,
And in death we sweetly slumber,
When the King commands the spirit to be free.
Nevermore with anguish laden,
We shall reach that lovely Eden
When they ring the golden bells for you and me!
.
Don't you hear the bells now ringing?
Don't you hear the angels singing?
'Tis the glory hallelujah jubilee.
In that far off sweet forever
Just beyond the shining river
When they ring the golden bells for you and me.
.
The saddest thing in this picture is the tear that is rolling down the Savior's face as He looks at the world and the terrible crimes that man is committing on their fellow beings
.
John 11:35....".Jesus wept".
.
Just imagine He who died for us is weeping, the same Person that will wipe away all of OUR tears!!
.
.
.
Thank you Saija,,,

I remember that song from elementary school. I have a friend, Eddie Ray Seals...brother of Jimmy and Dan Seals...who was a member of a Christian quartet called The Imperial Quartet. They sang that song...I love it.

Oh, I put up a photo of Turtle for you on my blog.

I haven't heard that song in a long time - just reading the words again brought the melody to mind and the tears started to flow. We never know how many tomorows any of us have.
Regarding your previous post - my deepest sympathy at the passing of your aunt. She and I shared the same birthday - July 15. That was a lovely tribute you wrote to her.

Thanks for posting "When They Ring the Golden Bells." If you'd like to know something about the amazing life of the author, Dion de Marbelle (who died in 1903), check out my hymn blog, Wordwise Hymns, for today.
