Remnants of Autumn

This Saturday, I decided to park the little red car and take a walk around the palace grounds.

There was only a remnant of autumn left.
A few shivering leaves were clinging with all their strength to the tree branches, as if by doing so they could slow down winter's arrival.

The lawn was a sea of color with leaves of every shade laying in many scattered piles.

As I walked, the sound of the crunch of dried leaves, under my feet mingled with the sweet singing of the birds and the busy chatter of the squirrls, as they scurried about shopping for their winter food.

I caught a glimpse of one of these grey furry creatures in a bare tree and he stopped his work just long enough to let me take a quick photo.

It is now only a matter of time that the white snow will be covering all this splendour of autumn.

Fall will be just a pleasant memory.

Goodbye Fall....Hello [but certainly NOT welcome] Winter!

When we lived where there were all 4 seasons I used to hate to see Fall come because it always brough Winter. Now I miss Fall because I dont get to see its bright colors. I just returned from Virginia where I got some beautiful pictures of Fall!! I did not know that I missed those gorgeous leaves and colors until I saw them again. I always hated winter so badly that I missed the beautiful colors that came before. What a waste!! Sandy

I have an assignment for you dear Miss Terry who (hates) dislikes winter: Think about the blessings of winter and make a list (only positives). Then when you're down in the dumps hating winter, you can pull out your list and remember the goodness that it brings in preparing God's creation to bloom in the spring. And remember how boring it would be to live in an area that had only one or two seasons. You also have such lovely photos to bring cheer to your heart in the dead of winter ... and blogging fiends that can bring good tidings each day while you're waiting patiently for the springtime. You're such a sweetie, now go make your list please :)

Love,
Cathy

Leave it to Terry to find beauty anywhere. Have camera, click and there's a beautiful picture showing God's creation. No "big bang" here this is all God's perfect plan. Did you get your CD's yet???

Terry:

What great pictures and yet each one has an element of sadness, grief and loss to it. We are leaving the brightness of summer for the paleness of winter but:

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest...He is faithful!

Be encouraged today, dear friend!

Good golly Miss Terry...you surely do have keen eye for beauty and God's incredible canvas to capture.

Thank you so much for sharing...especially for those who are autumn challenged.

Lord's blessings to you Missy!

PS...I do so which you, David, Debra and others could have attended the GodBlogCon. It would have been richer for your presence.

Lovely pictures, dear Terry! Wendy's post on Love Letters from God really touched my heart on a day I truly needed some cheer. A few weeks ago I thought I should make a list of things I love about winter and then saw Mrs. Mac's comment. I think I will do it.
