Saved By Grace

There comes a time in life when attending church is just not enough. As a young adult, married with two children, I discovered something about my church experience up to this point was empty. Then the moment of truth arrived and my own conscious was seared with the head AND heart knowledge that I needed more than a church experience. Don't get me wrong ... there's nothing particularly wrong with church, but when that experience is just that: an experience ... I began to question WHY go to church. What was the reason for this 'ritual'? By chance (you know there is no such thing as random chance;) .. I met a young mom that would become a life long friend. She invited me to a Bible study one Wednesday night and ... get this ... the pastor was reading directly from THE WORD. Now in all my younger growing up years, yes ... even in the church I attended ... I had NEVER listened to God's word being read directly from the Bible .. nor did we read the Bible at home. It didn't take more than about a chapter of Scripture to be read directly from the Good Book to realize that I needed to be saved. That was in January of 1987. I had been made alive in Christ.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms to Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:4-9 (NIV)

Would you believe ... two weeks later I shared the Good News with my husband, Mr. Mac, and he was made alive in Christ too!

thank you mrs. mac!....have a joyful lords day....love terry

Hi Terry,
Oh, I so enjoyed reading of our
sweet Mrs. Mac's finding Jesus-
and then Mr. Mac, too! Our
beautiful wonderful Savior,
precious Redeemer and Friend!
He is the one our hearts have
always been longing for! I woke
up singing that song this morning.
May He keep His song of everlasting
love in your heart, Terry.
Love & Prayers,
Sandy

Powerful is the Living Word of God!

Great testimony! My heart is joyful with the song - 'saved by grace'. I sung along with it. I so miss these great hymns! Nothing ministers to my heart quite like the hymns of old.

Happy Sunday, Terry

it is good to tell and retell the story of our release from bondage and the setting free of a soul trapped by sin
