A Chilly Ruby Tuesday

http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/

I have been a little slow in putting in my Ruby Tuesday this week!
We have been going out every night to special gospel meetings in Niagara Falls and it has made me a little tired by times.
But I love to go and take my friend and Mom Golden out to the meetings.
Anyways I best be getting this post done before midnight and before it is Wednesday ,eh?

Well, this is about the look of things here in Southern Ontario.
The red and golden and orange and yellow leaves have mostly all fallen, and the naked trees are shivering!
This ruby sunset was taken in Niagara Falls with my old but still trusty 35 mil camera.
I put this picture of Bernie and me [also taken with 35 mil] picture into the sunset.
It has really turned cold here and even though the red sunset looks warm, we are definitely in for some frigid and snowy weather!
This Friday when Bernie and I drove to St Catharine's, we were greeted by this Salvation Christmas helper.
A sure sign that Christmas is a coming!
This Santa Clause's elf offers plenty of red. Right from her bright suit jacket and Sally Anne sign to a red plastic cup of Cola!

Here is little laddie
who is learning at an early age, the good practise of giving!
He surely does look good in his little red shirt!

Here is a footnote to this post.
In Welland as we were heading out to shop in St. Catharine's, I spotted this hardy tree. It was fighting winter and standing as firm as it could on to autumn ground!
When we saw it today , it was still fighting but we all surely know that by this time next week it will be as bare as the rest of its buddies!!
Oh the shame of it all!!!

It was snowing on our way home from Niagara Falls this evening.
When we have our first decent snow, I am going to make a huge snowball and throw it right through cyberspace at Mrs. Mac!
Did you all know that she is the Idaho Snow Queen, and proud of it?

Yes it is surely cold here but never the less....HAPPY RUBY TUESDAY TO THE TEACH AND HER MANY FRIENDS
.........................Love Terry

Dear Terry,
your loving heart is flowing ruby over.
I feel at home in Southern Ontario.
The red tree so stubbornly fighting, not unlike you.
Salvation Army people also are collecting money for the needy and homeless in our town every December. Never seen them wearing red T shirt and trainers though. Cultural and climate differences I guess.
Next Sunday, first Sunday in Advent Salvation Army will open the Christmas Street and turn lights on the pine in main street.
They are an important part of everybody's Advent time.
Good on you bringing them forward.
(They are the famous all over Norway for their heartedly performance of Pearly Gate.

Terry, Vinny (hubby) and I spent our honeymoon in Niagara Falls! I love seeing the SA elf and know she's playing holiday music! Great Ruby Tuesday post! :)

This is the Snow Queen from Idaho reporting to Miss Terry ... you have done a great job here for Ruby Tuesday. That poor tree is sure to be shivering by now standing naked next to his buddies. You and Bernie look heavenly in the ruby sunset of trees. We have no snow to report. Keep me posted so I can duck.

Hugs,

Christmas is the time for giving, so the Salvation Army RED is most appropriate. I love Christmas and giving, we all need a reminder that we need to give, also.

Snow in Ontario - say it isn't so. My brother lived for a while in North Bay, and they got 180+ inches of snow per tear. The Great White North??

Fun Ruby Tuesday post! Speaking of cold and winter, I live north of Toronto where there's snow on the ground. Brrr.

Terry, thanks for your extensive comment at my Obama family post. Obama being elected means so much to so many. What it means to me is that my little African Anerican grand-nephew can be President of the US some day! For real! :) We loved Niagara Falls (it was very warm and we didn't need our winter clothes at all) but subsequently and when we had more money we went to the Caribbean on anniversary vacations... :)

Hi Terry -- I am under the gun this day but sat down for a cuppa (coffee). I have to get the house clean before Mrs. Jim comes in later this afternoon. She has been at Karen's since Wednesday, about 80 miles away in Katy, Texas.

It is nice that you live close enough to drive into Niagra Falls. Mrs. Jim and I were only there once (with Karen when she was in the sixtth grade) in the eighties. It was very pretty.

Then we drove across Canada over to Detroit. That was a month long summer trip. Teachers have some of the summer off you know.

I like your Ruby Red Tuesday. Looks like you do it right. Mine was late and still those 21 comments almost overworked me trying to answer. I am not sure I did answer all, but I think I did.

Hope you and Bernie and the Goldens are doing fine. Too bad you couldn't drag Pops along. I used to get dragged to church and Sunday school and consequently rebelled against that for a lot of years. Mrs. Jim didn't have to drag me.
Someday Pops will go for the ones he loves. A lot of us are praying for him and you all.
