Thanks Terry and Bernie -- still posting in the wee hours of the morning heh ! I was looking at your Manitoba web site and could see how U "yearned" for the great prairies -- I would like to "yearn" also for that "First Love" when Christ was so filling my life - years have gone by and life has a way of taking the "edge" off of things - but - I know this - "HE IS FAITHFUL" , it's us that changes --LORD BLESS U and Bernie this new day on HIS CALENDAR - passing-thru
I left a comment on your post on Pals...I was trying to explain my absence from there lately. I have really been around, just not as much as I used to...but I hope that will change now...your sweet friend Mrs Butler especially is encouraging me that I need to hang around Pals more....sigh....I will!
Passing-thru, What a refreshing sight it is to see U around, dear friend!
Thanks Lil Montreal Girl -- And to U personally, my condolences for the "loss" of your dear dad -- I have "always" thought that U two girls were exceptional in "the faith" and that was due to your dad and mom --Blessings to U prayingsensfaninmontreal --- passing-thru
Oh it is so nice to hear the voice of friends. I love all you blogger friends so much. The song that is singing in my heart now is. "Somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good!"[from Sound Of Music] Of course I didn't but I really don't know why the Lord has blessed me with so many friends and I don't even deserve it!!!Love Terry
Oh Little Montreal Girl! Your sweet voice is music to my ears!..love Mrs. Shirkie
Passing-thru, I am glad that you mentioned my "Manitoba Roots" I really must spend some time on it,eh? It is two years since I went out there with Betty and my nieces Amy and Rachel and my nephew Matthew!
The subject of "freedom" dear Terry takes on new meaning when we talk of true "FREEDOM" excerpt here from John Bunyan's writings : -- One day as I was passing into the field . . . this sentence fell upon my soul. Thy righteousness is in heaven. And methought, withal, I saw with the eyes of my soul Jesus Christ at God's right hand; there, I say, was my righteousness; so that wherever I was, or whatever I was doing, God could not say of me, he wants [=lacks] my righteousness, for that was just before him. I also saw, moreover, that it was not my good frame of heart that made my righteousness better, nor yet my bad frame that made my righteousness worse, for my righteousness was Jesus Christ himself, "The same yesterday, today, and forever." Heb. 13:8. Now did my chains fall off my legs indeed. I was loosed from my afflictions and irons; my temptations also fled away; so that from that time those dreadful scriptures of God [about the unforgivable sin] left off to trouble me; now went I also home rejoicing for the grace and love of God." ------- passing-thru
Dear Passing-thru. Thanks so much for this comment. You know I always am so happy when we sing this hymn in meeting,
"And can it be that I should gain An interest in the Saviour's blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be, That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
'Tis mystery all: the Immortal dies: Who can explore His strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries To sound the depths of love divine. 'Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more.
He left His Father's throne above So free, so infinite His grace Emptied Himself of all but love, And bled for Adam's helpless race: 'Tis mercy all, immense and free, For O my God, it found out me!
Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast bound in sin and nature's night; Thine eye diffused a quickening ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. [This is my favourite verse Passing-thru. It never fails to bring the worship from my heart and the tears to my eyes!
Still the small inward voice I hear, That whispers all my sins forgiven; Still the atoning blood is near, That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven. I feel the life His wounds impart; I feel the Savoir in my heart.
No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine; Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach the eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Thank you Passing-thru for reminding me of the true meaning of freedom!.....Love Terry
No -- thankyou Terry for bringing that great hymn to our attention - specially these words : Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast bound in sin and nature's night; Thine eye diffused a quickening ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. ---------- Looking unto HIM - passing-thru
Thanks :-) Lil Montreal Girl -- although I think that U and LPP should be addressed as WOMEN for U are by age and mature in the "faith" as well ------ and it is SOOOOOOOOOO nice to see U also :-) HAS ANYONE SEEN TERRY ?? lol
Aaah Miss Terry & Bernie ... that was so very nice ... I'll be bringing the Mr. and Soldier Boy by to view that lovely piece. You guys are truly great friendly Canadians.
I grew up in a family of nine children and each week my mother didn't just send us to Sunday School, she came with us.
We heard the gospel week after week from the year 1956 but were not saved until 1967.
The summer of 1967 my mother,my sister, Betty and I were all gloriously saved.
From that year until now several of my brothers and sisters were saved, but my dad still remains on the outside.
It has been our prayer that he will be saved soon and then the family circle will be unbroken and we will all be on our way to heaven where we will meet the Lord and see our brother, David who has gone on before.
