Felisol's Prayer Request For Her Daughter Serina

Today I received a letter from our friend, Felisol who we have all come to know and love in the last few months.

She has sent a prayer request and I thought the best thing would be to write in this post her own words.

I am sure that she won't mind.

"My prayer request is for my weakest spot, my darling Serina.

She has not at all been well the last two months.

Ten days of throwing up and diarrhea at the end of April, then headache, soar throat, some fever, catarrh, tiredness.

We were all so occupied by my father's long term illness and death, that we did not pay enough attention to her condition.

She visited her grandfather, made her final exams, celebrated some of the "russ" time, went to her extra work as a cashier on a supermarket, but had to rest for some hours every day.

This last week she has spent mostly in bed, not a word of complaint.

Friday her fever rose to 39.7 Celsius[I'm not familiar with the Fahrenheit scale].

I asked should we call the doctor. She rejected. She does not like doctors at all. She has already had too many doctors in her life. "

This letter shortly followed from Felisol:

"Today we had to take her to the hospital, though. Her fever rose to 40.3 Celsius

degrees and her whole body was aching so frightfully, we could not even touch her. After seven hours of investigation's, the doctors came up with a probable diagnosis. Reactive arthritis. She is in the hospital now for further examinations. I am horrified. Her father's mother died with a severe arthritis when Serina was just four weeks old. I so do hope that the Lord will spare her from that awful destiny. Will you when you have the strength and time help me for praying for Serina?"

..................................................................................................................................................................

And a third letter came.

"You can ask anyone to pray for Serina. She is a rare darling and she is in much pain now, and might be looking at a dark future if the Lord does not interfere."

.................................................................................................................................................................

In dear Felisol's last letter, it just seems as if the Lord has wrapped His loving arms around her!

"I must tell you, though, a sudden peace fell over me, I can't explain, "Your peace shall be like the flood", is the words inside my head.

I thank God for Arlene.Have just prayed for her. It's wonderful to be the child of the living. loving God"....Felisol

WOW! I'll be praying for sure...I am a littl puzzled about the reactive athritis thing--always have been a little bad about second-guessing doctors. I pray they find out the true problem.
No wonder I felt to pray for her last night. I was up a little late and as I fell asleep I just kept praying for Felisol and Serina till I was asleep. Amazing how God moves!

Love and Prayers,
Rose

Oh that is so incredible Rose that you prayed for her!
Maybe that is why she felt such peace!
Here is letter number 5 from this morning Rose.

" I followed your advise and went to bed, I cannot believe it but my sleep was sweet?"

I think that question mark at the end was our little "resting in Psalm 37" girl.
That is so nice that you felt the way you did without even knowing the sad situation that our Felisol was in and you prayed for her.
God bless you little Rose!....Love Mrs. Shirkie

Glory to God! The Lord used to speak to me all the time, and I would interceed for people as I went to sleep, or even during the day. The worst is when someone is dying who does not know the Lord...I cry a lot, and feel very uneasy inside. I think that gift comes from my Grandmother, because she interceeds a lot for people, as the Lord leads her. Anyway, last night I was up til later than usual, and then decided I would plait my freshly-washed hair (that's how I treat myself; plaited hair is so easy to pin up in a bun, and I leave it in for a few days...and it took a long time to convinve my mom to let me do it the first time!) instead of going right to sleep. So I was up until 10:30 plaiting one side, and the whole time trying to remember the names of people overseas I used to pray for on saturday nights. I have been so slack lately, I could not remember their names. But all I could think of were Felisol and Serina, so I prayed the whole time I plaited. Then when I realized how late it was, I covered my head with a hankerchief, and decided I'd plait the other side in the morning. But I still prayed until I drifted off to sleep, and then prayed again this morning. It's not the first time somthing like this has happened when I felt to pray for someone, but I always marvel at God's goodness when it does!

Praying still,
Rose

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ - lifting up the needs of Serina to the throne. Father you know what we have need of even before we ask. I come believing your promises because your word says that you cannot lie. I claim healing for this precious child of yours and peace that passes all understanding. I now give you praise and glory for a work already done. In Jesus name...
Amen.

Hi Terry, I've been pretty quiet in my blogging this weekend. We have a 24 hour hour prayer vigil going for friend Vera and for Friend Wayne. Both are in terrible situations with their chemo and antibiotics with reaction, loss of strenght, etc.
That was long, but just wanted to let you know even when not blogging you, Felisol and family, Arlene, and little Billly and his family are on my prayer list and for some reason while doing my hour last night Felisol and family, then the rest sneaked into my prayers also.
I will keep on praying especially for Serina now.
How is yoiur recovery doing, and are there updates on these others?
I will check Arlene's blog next here.
..
Of course I checked in on BP as you did yesterday.

Dear Terry,
Dear all of you.
I shall have to thank you each and everyone individually, but for now I can only say thank you for being with us in these critical days and nights.
Yesterday we had to wake all night at the hospital, Serina could barely breathe.
I think maybe the prayers saved Serina's life that night. Things were really dramatic.
There is no greater power than that of God and his children praying.
To night she's sleeping at home, but tomorrow morning we'll have to return to the hospital again for further examinations and tests.
It's now 01.35 and I have to get some sleep.
So, just, thank you.

Was I ever glad to hear that Serina is home.

I've never had plaits for so long, but because they reminded me of Serina, I kept them in...okay, I also wanted to show it off a bit, I have to be honest. White girl with dark plaits braided and crossed round my head in red braids, what hair God has given me! (I don't color it, it is really dark on top, and red at the ends!)

I'll keep praying that Serina will have a relaxing summer. I can realte to her more than you can imagine!

Love and Prayers,
Rose
