Happy Ruby Tuesday..A Day After Family Day

http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/

it was an ontario holiday today, as the citizens celebrated family day...it was a quiet day for bernie and i and so i decided to make my ruby tuesday post with several family pictures. it seems that almost every few weeks or so, the goldens are celebrating family day!..yes love and god keeps our family together and so does the computers and our cameras and all of the feasts that my niece, rachel and my nephew, little john make for us!

Family Day is observed in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan on the third Monday of February. This holiday celebrates the importance of families and family life to people and their communities.
What do people do?
On Family Day, many people plan and take part in activities aimed at the whole family. These include visiting art exhibitions, watching movies, skating on outdoor ice rinks, playing board games and taking part in craft activities. Some communities plan special public events, and art galleries and museums may have reduced price or free entry.

As the weather is usually very cold in February, hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies are popular snacks. Other people use the long weekend as an opportunity for a short winter break or to travel to visit family members or friends. As Family Day falls on the same date as National Heritage Day, some people use the day to explore their personal heritage and family history.

happy ruby tuesday everyone and may god bless you all!...love terry

Hi Terry, you have a great family! I love to see all of these pictures. More and more I am getting to know.

My favorite is the little boy hugging the black dog. The dog is deciding. You spoil that dog, letting it get up on the furniture.

Next might be, but isn't, the brown dog at the top of the stairs. I am sure there is a story there.

Happy RT! Stay warm,
..

Oh Terry this post has made me so envious. I want to jump right in and celebrate Family Day with you all lovely people. I think it steals the cake from commercialized Valentine 's Day.This Day should be celebrated all over the world.

Three cheers for you all.

You have such a beautiful family and I think it's wonderful that you all celebrate being a family so often:-) I spent my day organizing the thousands of pictures that I have. You should have seen my bedroom, pictures everywhere!! Sure brought back a lot of memories, though, looking at some of them:-) I'm not quite done yet, still have a few piles I need to go through but the bulk of it is all done.

Have a wonderful week my friend. xoxo

Dear Terry,
Another wonderful blog post of yours.
What a great idea to have a family day. Superb. I know the Goldens never miss an opportunity of a good get together.
It's a pity these pix don't have a sound track!
Gunnar and I have been celebrating my mother in Sauda, back this evening.
Now I am just a tiny bit tired,- as usual these days.
I'm watching the Olympics in Vancouver. Rather depressing from a Norwegian point of view.

This was so much fun -- looking at the pictures of all of you -- and there are two other ladies there who look a lot like you, I guess they must be your sisters, Terry!

Loved the Family poem.

You are such a warm hearted friend and family member, Terry...

Thanks for sharing these with us.

Love
