A Rainy But Green Saturday

I was ready, and looking forward to a sunny Saturday in the country this week so I could take an abundance of pictures but lo and behold, the rain decided to come!! The only photos that I could possibly take had to be done from the safety of the house, standing at the open door!! Even the birds were missing. I guess THEY didn't appreciate the dampness either!
Oh well, I must admit that even in the midst of all this gloom, the green of the trees and grass on the Palace grounds came through just fine! Unlike the birds and I they appreciated the showers of blessings being sent to them from above!!

Maybe tomorrow will be a sunny day!

Sisters and Best Friends for Seventy Plus Years

Today, being my day off I was going to take my little mother and my Aunt Marion out for lunch and shopping, but unfortunately my aunt was feeling a little under the weather. My mom and I decided to bring the lunch to Aunt Marion and stay for a little visit.
These two "girls" have been sisters for 75 years, so they have a lot to talk about. As I listened to them talk, I took their pictures! Ha! I never leave home without my camera!
After enjoying a hot meal, special delivery from Tim Hortons and my little red car and me, these two "best friends" looked over Aunt Marions' large collection of pictures. And because each had nine children, this is a whole lot of memories!! Aunt Marion has nine children, 25 grand children and 26 great grandchildren. My mom has nine children, 26 grandchildren and three greats!
At the top of this blog is a picture of the two sisters when they were just young "chicks" in their 40's. I think it is one of my favorite pictures of them. My nother is on the right.
We enjoyed a couple hours together and it was time to say good bye till next time. Aunt Marion stood at the door as I stuffed my little mother into the little red car and it was "hi-ho Silver" until another day!!

I Know He Loves Me Too!

I was hoping today as I drove down the highway to work that I would have a little bit of a photo shoot but alas, the day was not only cloudy, but the air was filled with a fog like mist.
Well not to despair though! I thought I would put these pictures on my blog.... Two weeks ago this little fellow was caught standing on a pine tree branch, not yet knowing how to fly and I felt so sorry and afraid for the little guy! I could see a father cardinal flying about in distress in the blue sky above. Well I looked that little baby bird right in the eye and told him I would be praying for him! He let me take about a dozen pictures and never seemed to be afraid. After I had taken as many pictures that I dared, I said good bye to him and as I walked up the lane to pick her a bouquet of tulips, I prayed for the safety of this little creature of God's making. Returning about ten minutes later, I was so relieved to see that his daddy had successfully rescued his little son and, as only fathers can do had carried him safely home to his mother and told him he would leave the rest of the flying lessons for another day!
As for me, I thanked my Father above for looking after that baby.
He loves me too!
He loves me too!
I know He loves me too!
If God so loves the little birds,
I KNOW He loves me too!
