Happy Birthday Mr. Jim

today is mr. jim's birthday and i was so busy today and could not make this post earlier and so i thought i would do it in the early evening but alas!...bernie and i were so busy going to the door and popping in cans of coke into the trick or treat kids bags and now at nine o'clock, i finally have the time to wish to you mr. jim a very happy birthday and i hope that you have many more!

mr. jim has TWO birthdays

when mr. jim was a man, he so wanted to be a christian...and one happy day it happened ..mr. jim has two birthdays in his life now...here are his own words.

Jim said...

"These were the words spoken to me, personally, by the Lord:

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."

I had heard and read these words from the Bible, again in Revelations (Chapter 3, Verse 20), many times before. They were spoken to the people of the church at Laodicea in Turkey, many years ago.
But one day, at a revival, these words became personal to me. I had wondered for years if I were really saved.

That day, in the pew, the words were whispered to me personally, from Jesus Himself, it was the strangest feeling I have ever had.
[They made have actually been spoken by The Holy Spirit, I don't know, and it doesn't matter.]

I responded right then in a short silent prayer asking Jesus to forgive my sin and that I promised to follow Him and His commands from that day on."

mr. jim has lived many years since that marvelous day and his life surely proves that he is a true child of the lord jesus and if we never meet on this earth mr. jim, bernie and i will surely meet you on the other side...

i hope that you like this little sunday school song that many sunday school children have grown up with...i know you will like it because you love little kids!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY our dear texas friend and i hope that this year you will share a piece of this cake with my beloved niece, adi!..................love bernie and terry

Happy Victoria Day!

http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/

now this is certainly a different ruby tuesday post but the royal family has surely been on so many people's minds just lately that i thought i would take the opportunity of canada's victoria day to put this little history of it and the testimony of a beloved queen....queen victoria..

History
King George VI in Ottawa, Ontario, on his official birthday, Victoria Day 1939The birthday of the monarch was a day for celebration in Canada long before Confederation, with the first legislation regarding the event being in 1845 passed by the parliament of the Province of Canada to officially recognize May 24 as the Queen's birthday.[1] It was noted that on that date in 1854, the 35th birthday of Queen Victoria, some 5,000 residents of Canada West gathered in front of Government House (near present day King and Simcoe Streets in Toronto) to "give cheers to their queen."[2] On May 24, 1866, the town of Omemee, also in Canada West, mounted a day-long fĂȘte to mark the occasion, including a gun salute at midnight, pre-dawn serenades, picnics, athletic competitions, a display of illuminations, and a torch-light procession.[3]

Will I Spend Eternity In Heaven?
Queen Victoria's Testimony
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are we destined to pass our time on earth in a continual and fearful uncertainty, living daily with the terror of not knowing whether or not we shall end up in Heaven or Hell at last? Or may we know here and now that Heaven is our destiny, and be absolutely certain of the fact?

Queen Victoria wanted to be sure. After attending a service in St. Paul's Cathedral, she asked her Chaplain, "Can one be absolutely sure in this life of eternal safety?" But he knew of no way to be certain.

The "Court News" published these remarks and so they became widely circulated throughout the land. Moved by what he read in a copy that he happened to come across, a quiet and
unassuming evangelist by the name of John Townsend began to think and pray about answering her himself. Finally he sent the following letter to the Queen;

"To her Gracious Majesty, our beloved Queen Victoria, from one of her most humble subjects:

With trembling hands, but heartfelt love, and because I know that we can be absolutely sure now of our eternal life in the Home that Jesus went to prepare, may I ask your Most Gracious Majesty to read the following passages of Scripture: John 3:16; Romans 10:9,10?

These passages prove that there is full assurance of salvation by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ for those who believe and accept His finished work.

I sign myself, your servant for Jesus' sake,

John Townsend"

John Townsend told others about his letter to the Queen. Many prayers from many hearts went up to God. In about two weeks he received a modest-looking envelope in which was the following letter;

"To John Townsend:

Your letter of recent date I received and in reply would state that I have carefully and prayerfully read the portions of Scripture referred to. I believe in the finished work of Christ for me, and trust by God's grace to meet you in that Home of which He said, "I go to prepare a place for you."

(signed) Victoria Guelph"

Some years later the Queen was visiting the tenants on one of the Royal Estates, and an old lady nervously came up to her, curtseyed, and said, trembling, "Your Majesty, will I see you in Heaven one day?"

Victoria smiled, and replied, "By the all-availing blood of Jesus, you most certainly shall, my dear! I have His word on it!"

God had graciously brought the Queen to full assurance of faith. From the day she received that humble letter she knew that Heaven was hers.

Saved By Grace

There comes a time in life when attending church is just not enough. As a young adult, married with two children, I discovered something about my church experience up to this point was empty. Then the moment of truth arrived and my own conscious was seared with the head AND heart knowledge that I needed more than a church experience. Don't get me wrong ... there's nothing particularly wrong with church, but when that experience is just that: an experience ... I began to question WHY go to church. What was the reason for this 'ritual'? By chance (you know there is no such thing as random chance;) .. I met a young mom that would become a life long friend. She invited me to a Bible study one Wednesday night and ... get this ... the pastor was reading directly from THE WORD. Now in all my younger growing up years, yes ... even in the church I attended ... I had NEVER listened to God's word being read directly from the Bible .. nor did we read the Bible at home. It didn't take more than about a chapter of Scripture to be read directly from the Good Book to realize that I needed to be saved. That was in January of 1987. I had been made alive in Christ.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms to Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:4-9 (NIV)

Would you believe ... two weeks later I shared the Good News with my husband, Mr. Mac, and he was made alive in Christ too!

thank you mrs. mac!....have a joyful lords day....love terry

Happy Birthday Pilgrim!

tomorrow it is david fisher's birthday and he will be 65!
oops! a little birdie told me this and i was not suppose to tell!

well i had to put this is a little early as the little red car will be taking bernie and i for a ride at four in the morning..

here below is david's testimony. i have had it in here before but it is well worth the repeating!

david says.

50 Years in God's Family

On April 6th, 2002 I celebrated 50 years as a child of God. A half century in God's family. Five decades of knowing Christ as my Savior and Friend. I'd say "Savior and Lord" but He hasn't always been Lord, in my life, sad to say. I can well remember the Sunday morning as a 6-year-old boy when my mother explained God's love to me. We knelt and prayed at the kitchen table and I became a young follower of Jesus. Did I completely understand the decision I'd made? No, but the Holy Spirit did His work and I realized that God had given His Son as a sacrifice for my sin. The pilgrimage hasn't always been easy. The road has had its bumps and detours along the way. But God has been faithful! He has been there each step of the way!

In the midst of life's storms He has been my anchor, my refuge, my lighthouse. A favorite scripture verse has been, "The eternal God is your refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms." (Deuteronomy 33:27) As I look back over 50 years, I'm grateful for the godly influence of Christian parents who led the way.

Even as a boy, the Lord used Christian radio programs like Billy Graham's Hour of Decision and the Back to the Bible Broadcast to encourage me on my journey. Christian visionaries from the past like George Muller and J. Hudson Taylor taught me faith principles that would shape my life. Missionaries like Isobel Kuhn and Jim and Elisabeth Elliot impacted my life through their writings. God has blessed me over the years with faithful Christian friends who stood by me during the good times and the bad.

Looking back, I'm a blessed man. God has lavished His love on me through His Son, Jesus Christ, and allowed me to share His love with a hurting, lost world. Thank you, Father, for reaching down and saving me so many years ago. May my life make a difference in the remaining years that You give me. Thank you! Amen!

Bernie and i hope that you have a happy day and a happy birthday david! We love you!....love bernie and terry

Deborah's Dad's Testimony

this post was put here with deborah's permission.
thank you deb! http://manitobagardens.blogspot.com/

Dad asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into his heart and save him in December, 1985, at the age of fifty-eight. Dad went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, December 16, 2009. The following is taken from Dad’s own words that he wrote of his testimony of salvation, and will be read this Monday, December 21st, when we celebrate Dad's life.

"I was raised in a family that didn’t attend church, but they did believe in God, so I was taught a strict Christian morality that most people we associated with accepted as all you needed to get into heaven. I guess somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew there was more to it than that, and occasionally I did discuss my salvation, or lack of it, with Christian friends, but with a total lack of understanding. The pressure of raising a family of eight children and just everyday cares of this world kept me too busy to do much searching for God, even when the desire was there. I also had a good job that I liked and I had lots of friends; I was doing fine without any help.
Although there was a time when I tried to study the Bible, I became disillusioned with religion. So when the Lord started working on other members of my family I kept out of it as long as I could. This wasn’t easy to do, as fantastic things were happening to the Blair family. Three of our children accepted Christ and I knew by the way they talked and acted that they had what I wanted.By December, 1985, the need to have Jesus in my life was all consuming. I had an ache in my heart and many sleepless nights. I asked Jesus to come into my life, but something seemed to stand in the way. Later that day, a visiting friend quoted “1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;”It may sound stupid, but for the first time in my life I understood what it meant. Then it dawned on me that I had been born again, and as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new,” …..I knew that I was changed and would never be the same."

A Happy Day For Mr. Old Geezer

Sober for 32 years...

Today is June 10th and I am celebrating 32 years of sobriety. By the grace of God on June 10, 1978 - I quit drinking alcohol and have not had a drink since. Although the temptation is still always around me - God graciously took the desire away. Early in my Christian life I said this short prayer to God, - "Lord, if I ever start drinking again would you please strike me dead." So, the next time you visit The Old Geezer Blog and if you smell smoke and you see a big pile of ashes on your computer screen... you'll know what happened. But hopefully that doesn't happen and I die at a ripe old age and as sober as a judge

mr. old geezer's testimony was aleady posted here once but it is well worth repeating!

Who is the old geezer?
Believe it or not I wasn't born an Old Geezer.I was born October 12, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, USA I lived in Watts and Compton, California until I was almost 8 years old, with my mother, my father and my sister. In the summer of 1954 we moved to Lakewood, California. Sad to say I caused my parents a lot of anguish and problems. If I was a kid in Biblical times I would have been stoned to death. Today they would no doubt blame my bad behavior on some disease, but I was just rotten mean no good kid. When I turned 13 years old I started stealing liquor from some of the local markets and getting drunk with my buddies as often as we could. By the time I was 16 years old I was a full fledged alcoholic.By the time I was 21 years old I had been married, divorced with two children, arrested three times for drunk driving, one time for grand theft auto and two times for burglary and theft. I remarried in 1972 to a women who had a disabled child and we had one daughter together. She married into hell on earth when she married me and after six years was ready to divorce me.In 1977 God saved my wife and she started to attend the Baptist church near our home and a bunch of women in her bible study started praying for her rotten drunken husband. In June of 1978 I was at my nieces graduation party (drunk as usual) and fell off some steps and broke out my front tooth. The next day when I woke up I said to myself this has got to stop and I quit drinking 'cold turkey' that day and to this day 'praise be to God' I've never had another drink of alcohol.Earlier that same year I started a new job as a truck driver in Los Angeles. It was about 1 and 1/2 years later my boss had me work with a Bible thumping Christian truck driver for 2 weeks, who I later found out was a converted drunk. He asked me if I had ever read The Bible. I said yes I read it once about ten years ago. He ask me what did you learn from it? I didn't have a answer for him. He asked me if I had a Bible at home and I said yes my wife had one. He challenged me to go home and read the book of Proverbs.I went home and opened up my wife's Bible and read through the book of proverbs. I read about wisdom and foolishness, right and wrong living, good and evil and verses about drunks and alcohol that hit me over the head like sludge hammer. I feel under deep conviction about my sinful life and saw myself as living the life of a fool. It was Easter of 1980 when I shocked the whole family and told them to get ready because we are all going to church. Through personal Bible reading, attending a good Bible teaching church and listening to Christian radio, God had mercy on me and by His grace He gave me the faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and become saved.Fast forward thirty years: I retired a little over 4 years ago. I've been married going on thirty eight years, I've served in two churches as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, an usher and have been actively involved in evangelism and discipleship. The Old Geezer has slowed down a little in the past few years. My primary ministry these days is helping my wife, my children, grandchildren, neighbors and sharing The Good News on... The Lord Is In The Midst

for the last two weeks the christians from the welland gospel hall have been having special gospel meetings.
they are very important meetings where the two visiting preachers have been preaching their hearts out about the good news of the forgiveness of god to lost sinners who are walking the broad way, they are using the "two roads and two destinies chart" as their guide.
this is one of the many, many inivitations given to the community.

the two preachers made a surprise visit to see bernie and me and we so enjoyed having them.
in fact a few days later bernie and these two went to have a coffee at tim hortens' and left ME behind..ha! bernie is not used to going out with the boys!
anyways when they popped in that first day, they had to pay the price..they had to let me take a picture of them before bernie and i would let them out of the door!

they also paid dad golden a few visits and i really think that dad golden appreciated it..he has been coming home earlier and doesn't seem to want to avoid them.

here is the chairs arranged for the gospel meetings.
for this week it is bernie's and my turn to clean the hall and so we make sure that everything is clean and tidy for the evening meeting. i am very bad at arranging chairs, and just do not have the even eye for it but nobody seems to be complaining!

we took advantage of this week and decided to do the spring cleaning of the hall. bernie is cleaning the ceiling lights, dusting out any bugs that have made their home there with the dust!

from the ceiling to the floor.
now bernie is doing some vacuuming
.

as for me, i have the easy "sitting down" job of washing the little sunday school chairs.this particular class are the three and four year old children who are in aunt janice's class.

one last window to clean and now bernie is going to do his last job.

and that is the task if arranging the chairs in a circle for the lord's day morning breaking of the bread meeting of the christians where the lord is surely in the midst!

we have his word for it!

have a blessed lord's day...love terry

The Old Geezer...His Story Of Salvation

today, i read a comment on sonny's blog http://mydunnvillegarden.blogspot.com/ by the "old geezer" http://ronjoewhite.blogspot.com/ and so i went to see who he was.
i found this wonderful testimony that he had written about how the lord had found him and saved him.
so with his permission, i am adding this to my blog on my testimony posts...

Crown Of Beauty...Beautiful Light

crown of beauty has graciously allowed me to put the story of how she was saved in a post and i will not say anything more, other than that this dear christian lady from philippines is a dear friend to many.
her name is lidia[lidj] and it means, "beautiful light".
you can find her at,
http://mla-crownofglory.blogspot.com
this, then is her testimony.

"I was 12 years old, and on the threshold of my thirteenth year in the mid 1960's. I was about to go to bed one night and I heard myself asking God a few questions. These were some of the specific things I asked Him:

God, if you really are the God I believe in, I want to know You more.

I want You to show me if the things I believe in are true.

I ask You to show me the truth.

Please, God, somehow I feel that there is something lacking in my understanding, but I don't know where to get the answers...or if there is even someone who knows the answers to my questions.

Before I go any further, I have to make some things clear. I was not a heretic, and I certainly was not about to turn my back on my religious upbringing.

But even as a young girl, I was hungry for God, and would even go to bed with my Missal, my Book of Prayers, my precious collection of stampitas - lovely gilt edged picture cards of Jesus, Mama Mary, St. Theresa of Avila, St. Peter, St. Christopher, and many other saints - under my pillow.

I would often pray, asking Jesus to help me be a good girl, and help me keep my heart pure.

My frustration was that it always seemed so easy to fall into sin. Nothing major - a cross look, a lie, an unkind thought... nevertheless, I knew it was sin.

It seemed like I was never good enough, that my actions were always being weighed, and somehow, they always fell short.

If someone asked me what my idea of God was back then, here's my reply: to me He was like a tally-keeper up in heaven...some kind of a heavenly policeman.

However, those thoughts did not really bother me so much. As I progressed into my teen years, those questions got pushed underneath. After all I was just so busy with more exciting things, like school, friends, weekend parties and going out on dates...

I was enjoying life... the way any normal teenager would enjoy life.

And my growing up years were memorable, happy ones. I came from a small family where our parents faithfully looked after me and my sister's well-being; we were loved, we were nurtured, we were valued, and appreciated. Our needs were met. We celebrated birthdays, and anniversaries, graduation days, Christmas, New Year, Easter. I felt secure and confident in my parents' love.

It was only when I was a freshman at the University of the Philippines that those questions re-surfaced, and the answers came...in a miraculous way.

To be honest, I had actually forgotten those questions.

But God did honor my desire, after all, and revealed Himself to me, when I least expected Him to.

One day in 1972, when I was a second year university student, a classmate gave a speech to convince in our speech class. It was entitled "The Man You Cannot Ignore." Though she only spoke for a few minutes, her words had a deep impact on me. Much of what she said were answers to many questions in my heart, some dating back to when I was still a child.

The next week, I joined a small group that met weekly to study what the Bible had to say. It was a year later, in December 1973 that I came to know Jesus as my true Lord.

After taking this step of faith, one of the things that really changed in my life was how I regarded the Bible. From just being another book it became, The Book... and began to hold a very special place not just on my desk, but most importantly, in my heart.

There was a growing spiritual hunger to read it; each morning I couldn't wait to discover the gold between its lines and pages. There were days when I'd wake up before dawn, sit at my desk and begin reading.
And that was the best thing that ever happened to me - when I began to understand that my going to heaven was not something that I had to work for, or earn.

For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith—and this not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God— not by works,
so that no one can boast.
- Ephesians 2:8-9

Thus began a long journey of soul searching... studying the Bible, knowing that this Book was written by men under the inspiration of the God the Holy Spirit, and could therefore be trusted.

After a long period of evaluating and carefully looking at the evidences of the Scripture, accompanied by much prayer for enlightenment, the day came when I could hold back no longer.

I couldn't be a fence sitter, wavering between two opinions. I knew I had to turn the reins of my life over to the One who created me, my God, my King, my Redeemer.

As soon as that decision was made, it felt like a heavy burden was lifted off my back. It was the beginning of my spiritual journey, an exciting journey of knowing what God my Father was really like, and a brand new life of freedom and grace!

There may have been many rough roads on this journey, but the light of a million mornings has dawned in me...

Definitely, there is no turning back!"

Sunday Shool Teacher Mr. Jim

does this happy man look like he will be teaching sunday school tomorrow?
well listen to his story!

mr. jim says wednesday, june 24th

I had a nuclear stress test and a peripheral vascular scan (ultrasound) test and was waiting for the bad news from my cardiologist. It was nice they put windows in those little visiting areas, the ones with the little lay down table put there you can be poked and kneaded by the doc.

News wasn't real good, I will go in St. Lukes Hospital tomorrow for a heart catheterization again. I am prepared for a new stent or two and possibly a roto-rooter procedure in a few tight spots or to clean out a plugged up stent.

friday post, june 25th
The morning was typical hurry and wait. We had to come early in case the first patient did not show.

From here I would go to the prep room and wait until they took me away just a little after 10:00 . Thank goodness Tim, Karen, Billy, BP, and Mrs. Jim were there to keep me company during my wait.

I was 70% blocked in the artery that they stented, same as the one to my kidney that they will stent. Much more and I might have been hurting. The blockage was in this one before but only about 30% so they didn't stent it then.

Thought you might like to see how happy I looked in bed.

I had to lay flat on my back with my legs straight out for eight hours after they closed the incision in my upper leg. That was where they threaded the stent and stent guiding wires that would fish their way up to my heart.

It has been a long week and a long two days. I am teaching Sunday school this Sunday but worked my lesson pretty well up before I went to Houston.

God bless you mr. jim.
you are a faithful man!
this song is for you!............love bernie and terry

my testimony

this week when i read connies' story of her conversion, it made me realize that i have never even written out my own story.
i mean i was just too shy of doing so i guess...well just too cowardly.
now constance has given me the courage to just tell it!

mom and dad golden were married in 1947.
at that time they never went to church anywhere.
betty was born in april/48 and by the year 1952, there were four little golden children.
dad golden joined the air force and with the move to trenton, mom golden was invited out to gospel meetings at the lorne avenue gospel hall and that is when the christians started to pick us children up for sunday school where we heard all about the love of god for sinners.
1n the early 60's we moved to my beloved manitoba and there we attended the wheatland baptist church where we continued to hear the good word and where i continued not to hear it..too young,..lots of time to decide later. ...one of the devil's biggest lie to keep people from coming to the lord!
a year later, the christians from brandon took upon themselves the responsibly of taking the family to brandon gospel hall
this was a 66 mile round trip twice on a sunday.
by now there was 8 little goldens!
hearing the good gospel again for several years.
in high school there, i was in contact too every day with chrisitan kids that attended the pentecostal church,
and although i thought i was pretty smart that i went to so many gospel meetings and was a good girl[ha!..NOT!], i saw that these kids had a peace and happiness that i sure didn't!
when we moved to ottawa in 1967, life went on as usual for mom and her by then nine kids.
sunday school, prayer meeting and gospel meetings....still none of us saved.
well in june 1967 there came special gospel meetings and every night we were driven by the christians to these meetings.
one night when the preacher was speaking, he was telling us that we were all born sinners. i had heard this before of course..he said that we had all a rebellious nature and i thought to myself..that's me for sure. seventeen i was and wanting my own way and giving mom golden a hard time already....here i thought i was a christian and i was not!
i stayed behind that night to talk to the preacher and when i left i was still as blind as a bat.
for a couple of days at home, i tried and tried to believe but oh it was too hard.
i said to god...."you are just too far away and i can't find you. i will just have to go to hell because THAT is where i deserve to be"!
i got up from my knees and started to read luke 15 about the prodigal son and there as i read luke 15:20, i saw it.

Luke 15:20
And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

just like a bright light, it shined on my heart....here is how i saw this verse........And he arose and came to his father, But when HE was yet a great way off......god wasn't the one that was far off at all. he was near all the time just waiting...it was ME who was afar off. I was the lost one and that is who exactly that jesus died for!
oh my sins were all gone, the wall of sins that separated me from god was smashed down by jesus, the precious son of god who died for me.
finally i had the peace that i saw in those high school christian friends that i had.
as i lay on my bed just feeling so happy and relieved, i noticed all of the moths and june bugs at my window,
it was a hot summer night and already dark...my light was on and as i heard the thumps of those insects bouncing on the window, trying their hardest to get at the inside light, it dawned on my mind....and i said to those bugs...."oh you silly guys....don't you realize the glass wall that is separating you from the light. you are just helpless to get to it...SOMEONE has to smash down that wall before you can enter!"....oh! that is just like me....i was helpless....only jesus could break that wall of sin between god and me to let me in.....

i am sorry that i was so long winded but you must remember...this is the very first time that i have written this down and it is all because of connie that i was encouraged to do so.....

ps..mom golden and betty were saved about a week later....

Constance's Testimony

this week when i visisted connie...i read the wonderful story of her salvation and with her permission i have copied it here.

constance says;

"I was a young girl when my parents divorced and I didn't have much contact with my father. I saw him a couple of times a year but I always hungered for more. I was starving for a father's love. I had the love of my mother and my paternal grandmother during those lonely years. My grandmother's husband, "Grandpa Bud" was a mean man who would beat my grandmother when he was drunk, which was almost every day. I didn't have a positive father figure in my life. As an adult I can look back and see how that influenced and shaped me. I understand why I made the decisions and choices I did. It doesn't excuse them because I bear the full weight and responsibility of my actions. However, it's comforting to know that there was a reason why I behaved stupidly!

I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic grade school and high school and in my younger years attended Mass 6 days a week. I challenged the nuns at every turn always asking why we did things the way we did. I never got an answer that satisfied me. Although my mother was Catholic, when I was 9 years old, we went to a Billy Graham Crusade. The invitation was given to come forward and accept Christ as your Savior and I ran down there. My mother came behind me and told the counselor that, "it was okay, we were already going to church". I often wonder how different my life might have been if I had been allowed to accept Christ at that point. I don't blame my Mom because in hindsight, I believe that God's timing was perfect. I feel like I had to go through all of the bad choices and consequences to appreciate the great love of God.

In Luke chapter 7 starting in verse 36, Jesus has gone to the home of a Pharisee to have dinner with him. While there, a woman who was known to be a prostitute comes in and washes his feet with her tears. The Pharisee scoffs and thinks that if Jesus were a real prophet, he would never let this sinful, unclean woman near him, let alone touch him. Knowing this, Jesus turns to Peter and tells him the story of 2 men who owed money, one owed a small amount, the other a large amount. Neither could repay their debt and so the moneylender forgave their debt. Jesus asks the question, "Who will love more? The one who owed a little or the one who owed a lot?" I see my past life and I realize the debt that Christ's death on the cross wiped clean. I pray every day that I would love more
Loving Jesus was easy for me. I mean, who couldn't love HIM? He left everything, all the glories of heaven that are HIS alone and exchanged them for a life that ended in cruel suffering and death, all for my salvation! After accepting HIS sacrifice (as the only way to get to heaven) and turning the keys of my life over to HIM and letting HIM drive, my life has been so much more meaningful. I love HIM because HE first loved me and while I was still sinning and living a godless life, HE died for me! I've still made mistakes, lived selfishly at times and not always kept HIM in first place but HE'S always there with HIS arms opened wide, ready to take me back. Like I said, who couldn't love someone like that?
God on the other hand was abstract. I felt like HE was out there somewhere, totally indifferent and distant. I know now that my perceptions of God were based on my dysfunctional childhood and the lack of my own father interacting with me. I had to unlearn what I thought about God and see HIM for who HE really is.
It was during this waiting period that I got to know who God the Father is. I don't know HIM fully and never really will comprehend, this side of heaven but I got to experience the love of the Father in ways I never knew existed."

Good News From Grandpaw Ron

This evening, I paid a visit to our amazing grace man RRBJ.
This was his post and it is well worth reading
He has not been well lately but now says that he is feeling better.
We just thank the Lord for answered prayer.
On his blog, he has a real neat picture of Jesus that if you click on to it, the Lord walks right down the church isle and gives you His hand.
I have put Grandpaw Ron's blog address here
. http://rrbj.wordpress.com/

When I was 14years old Jesus came knocking on the door to my heart and I let Him in . I was young and the things I was taught sounded so real and I had stored them in my mind for many years but did not take them seriously ? My friends learn patience and you will find many of those things you heard will become real and help to grow your faith ?
Many years I spent hanging on and the last several years my Faith has really grown and I’ve found much peace in my heart and that Jesus’s Faithfulness has convinced I’m standing on a solid Rock !
That day that Jesus walked down that Isle and took me by my hand and said ” Come unto me and I will give you Peace ” ! The last few years those words have been my comfort ? I know that Jesus has been there for me Faithfully !

I have recieved many emails over the last month wanting to know if I’m alright ? I have not commented on blogs very little because it seemed I had to conquer the things going through my mind that was between Me and Jesus ? Since august I have had many Adversitys one after another ? I could not have got this far without the prayers from my church Family and my blogging friends ! I say to all of you ” Thanks ” ! I hope to start visiting the blogs and commenting ?

My last chapter I had fell again on the account of my ignorance got hold of me ? When I fell I fell straight down on my bottom and it disrupted every thing inside of me ? The last three weeks I have been recuperating and I’m about 95 percent ok now ?

Blessings to all !
Ron.

Morning Terry and Friends,

If you get time click on the url on my blog and read the story about The Rope ? Praying that Dad Golden will cut his rope and let Jesus into His heart ?

Blessings.

Mark's Testimony Story

I have just recently been thinking of a little boy that I used to have in my Sunday School class when he was just three and four years old and I have looked up the Gospel tract that he wrote shortly before he went to be with Jesus...

Mark Saumure ~ Welland, Ontario

The following is 'My Story'! It is dear to my heart since this is how I came to find Christ as MY SAVIOUR! My intention is simple - to let you know that God loves you SO much that He has given His only Son to die so that you might LIVE!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16.

I thank God my parents were Christians who read the Bible, feared God and took us to gospel meetings at the Gospel Hall. At ages seven and ten, I told people I had gotten saved. I’m still not sure why I said I was saved when I knew I wasn’t. Soon, gospel meetings became a chore.
In high school, I was ashamed of my parent’s beliefs and I rejected God’s Word. I did whatever I could to show my friends that I was not a Christian. I got in with the wrong crowd and did many “stupid” things. These “friends” only stood with me when things were going well.
In March 1995, I was diagnosed with a malignant form of cancer. This really shook me! However, I continued for the next few months thinking, like most teenagers, “I am indestructible!”
Finally, my doctor looked at me and said, “Mark, your time is limited. My guess is that you have one to two years left.” His words stabbed me. This was the first time I realized I was going to die. I used to think, “I am young, strong, and healthy. I have many years ahead.” NOT TRUE!
I spent May, June and July in Princess Margaret Hospital. During that time I began searching my Bible. First, I faced the truth that I did not have eternal life. I was afraid but too proud to tell my parents. Very late at nights I would pray, “Lord, please save my
soul! I know I am a sinner. I need Your salvation! Please save me!”
I knew many verses such as “He that BELIEVETH on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (
John 3:36). But I kept asking myself, “How do you believe?”
Then, on August 3rd, in my parent’s bedroom, I prayed very earnestly for salvation. Finally, I said, “I’ll just have to go to
hell! I just don’t understand what more I have to do to get saved.” Right them, I understood. There is nothing for me to do! EVERYTHING HAS ALL BEEN DONE! Christ died on the cross for me! That’s enough!
At that moment, Christ became MY
savior! Since then, I have had true joy. I used to think, Christians have boring lives. I was wrong! A Christian has a GREAT LIFE and a GREAT FUTURE. To be with the Lord Jesus for eternity – what could be better?!
I used to think “having a fun time” would satisfy. It all looks bright and inviting. The truth is, there is no real satisfaction in this world. The only satisfaction comes from the Lord Jesus!
What is keeping you from being saved? Don’t let your pride, your friends or anything keep you from getting saved. Remember, the
promise is still good, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).

Editors note: Mark Saumure passed into the Lord’s presence on September 17, 1996. Age – 19

Mr. Jim's Story Of Salvation

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."

Jim said...
These were the words spoken to me, personally, by the Lord:

I responded right then in a short silent prayer asking Jesus to forgive my sin and that I promised to follow Him and His commands from that day on.

Since then I have no more doubt or worry that I am saved, or question whether I was saved or not before when a teenager.
I did know that just being good wouldn't save me, a person had to ask for forgiveness and commit to the Lord.
But I didn't remember anything from back then except going down the isle when my younger sister did. For sure not asking Jesus to save me.

This nagging was now gone, I knew that I was saved.

Believe it or not, my life changed also, almost like being a different person. People noticed a change. Probably it was in the way I felt towards and treated other people. There were concerns for them not just for me and things I liked to do.

I also became devoted to following the Lord gladly instead of just reading the Bible and going to church.
And God has blessed me.

Reply from Terry

Oh Jim...What a testimony you have told..on my blog![in the comments].
Bernie and I had a dear friend who was in his 70's and we didn't preach to him a lot but he read our lives. Well, he told us one time.."I think my son has the same thing as you guys." His son had gotten saved.
Dom worked steady afternoons and his son and Dom's wife read the Bible together. They never told him about this just in case he would make a fuss.
Well they were Catholics and one day his wife had told him,." I don't need to go and talk to no priest. I have a direct line to heaven. In her simplicity, she was saved right there and then because that direct line that she discovered was Jesus.
One good thing that I have always noticed about the Catholics people, Jim is that if you read them something from the Bible, they believe it.
After his wife passed away, about a year later, well Dom came to a few gospel meetings with us.
One late night when Bernie and I were with him, he told us that he wanted to be alone. He said. "God and me have serious business."
Before we left, it was that fast..he told us,
"Well, I told God,"The door is open! Come on in!"
At that moment he was saved!
It was so neat the next time he went to gospel meeting with us, they sang the song, "There's a stranger at the door. let Him in"
Dom looked at me and said , I never even knew that was in the Bible, about the door!"
Grampa Yade once asked Dom 'Where are all your sins now Dominic?"
It was so thrilling to us Jim when Dominic answered simply., "Well I guess the Lord threw them all out when He came in!"
Dom is in heaven now and we sure do miss him!

Thank you so much Jim!

ANOTHER Belated Birthday!

knittermag.blogspot.com

http://sitteninthehills64.blogspot.com/
This beautiful little kitty with the nice blue eyes belongs to Naomi and I asked his mama a few weeks ago if I could post him on my blog..
Well the perfect opportunity has arrived, and that is the birthday of a dear friend of so many of us...Maggie-Ann, who just loves cats!
Sweetie is not really smiling and neither am I because I am two weeks late on wishing Maggie-Ann a Happy Birthday.
I have been running late on so many special occasions lately [hmm.. no pun intended!]

The little gal in the picture, with all those curls is Miss Maggie-Ann and if you read her profile, you can see there that she just adores "Anne Of Green Gables".
I cannot for the life of me understand why she spells her name without the "e"...
Ann, without the "e" does not just cut it as far as I am concerned!

Below I have copied Maggie-Ann's own words...

"When I was just a little girl,

I said to my Mother,
what will I be?
Will I be pretty,
will I be rich?...
Here's what she said to me...

"que sera sera,
Whatever will be will be,
the future's not ours to see...
que sera sera."

My Mother really did sing this to me when I was just a little girl. And I loved it. And now I'm all grown up and the most precious thing in my life is my personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ his son, my Saviour. I'm so thankful to be saved. To become a new creature in Christ is trully life changing. The most wonderful blessing to me, for now and for keeps....in the eternal life to come. No wondor John Newton...was inspired to pen the words, ...
"Amazing Grace....
how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see".

There is no sinner that will be turned away if he or she trully repents and asks God's forgiveness. "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

Maggie-Ann[e] turned 60 years old Jauary 15th..

She is catching up to Adi''s Grampa, Mr. Jim,
http://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/ who according to HIS profile is 106 years young!!

Happy Birthday Maggie-Ann[e]!!!!!
love Bernie and Terry

Thank you Naomi for allowing me to borrow your little prince for a while!...........
